Playa Barragona

Playa Barragona is the most beautiful beach around. We spent the afternoon there yesterday. Although the rainy season has started we have had really nice weather. Most of the rain has been in the evening and during the night. Yesterday the weather was perfect.

People travel from all over the world to visit places like this. I sometimes come here 4 times a week. I am definitely blessed. I don't know how long this will last but I'm enjoying it while it does........

With all the extra time on my hands and the fact that one of the few TV channels we get in English is the cooking channel Ive been inspired to do some cooking. I believe most of my cooking qualifies as white trash eating. You know the type of things you find at the county fair. (Above = Tico dogs- tortilla,hot dog, cheese, avocado, and BBQ sauce with a side of putene (its a Canadian thing) Homemade french fries covered with cheese and brown gravy, and a glass of grape Tang to wash it all down.

Winter Break

The kids are finally on a break from school. They have been in school for a full year. Last week was there first week off. There school Mareas takes there 7 week break during the rainy season. So far we haven't had to much rain, mostly in the afternoons or at night. I am nervous about those days of non stop rain. Not only for the kids sake but mine. Sometimes when the rain starts it comes down in buckets. Last week on our way home one evening the road just down from our place was a foot deep after a fairly short period of rain. We do plan on heading to the Caribbean side of CR than down to Panama for a little vacation in October. Those areas don't get the rain during October like our area does.

Zeke graduated kindergarten - He was very proud. He told everyone that he was graduating.

Almost Caught Up...

Oh yah, We upgraded vehicles 2 months ago. 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser. She's a beast, handles the beach roads, river crossings and mud holes really well.
